It’s no lie we absolutely love having chocolate morning, day and night. This is one way we make our normal recipe into a chocolate feast. Your welcome 😉
TIP: if you don’t have buckwheat, no worries simply replace quantity with more rolled oats to make more traditional porridge.
CHOCOLATE PORRIDGE RECIPE (using 1/2 buckwheat)
- ¼ cup buckwheat – ground down in a high speed blender, we use @vitamix_aunz
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- 1 cup water
- 1 scoop Vanilla or Chocolate Protein powder – we use Nuzest Clean Lean Protein
- 1 Tbsp. cacao powder
- salt and cinnamon /
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger (optional)
Place all ingredients together in a small pot, place on stove top cooking over a low – medium heat.
Porridge should start to thicken, keep stirring regularly to prevent it sticking to the bottom.
Once you have your desired consistency (everyone likes their porridge slightly different), pour into a breakfast bowl and go crazy on your toppings >> here’s what I topped mine with from the picture; homemade chocolate sauce – to make: coconut oil melted, mix with 1 tsp cacao powder and dash of maple / honey – drizzle over top. Add more + Granola + coconut chips + peanut butter.
